What is Power Pitch?
Power Pitch is a way for companies to submit innovative ideas to continuously improve our system, reduce costs and be ready to meet the challenges of the future. By providing innovators with the opportunity to present their solutions directly to Toronto Hydro, we aim to encourage new ways of thinking and break down barriers to entry for teams with great ideas.
Is there an application fee?
No, there’s no fee to enter.
If I’m selected to pitch my solution, how and when will I be contacted?
If you’re selected to pitch your solution, we’ll contact you by email at least two weeks before the event date.
What do I have to do to apply?
To apply, you just need to fill in the application form provided, providing as much detail as possible.

Who can participate?
Companies/providers with proven solutions are welcome to apply.

Can non-Canadian companies apply?
Yes! We encourage submissions from anywhere in the world, but the solution has to be feasible in the Toronto Hydro service territory. Please refer to the application form for details.
Can I partner with another company, sub-contractor, researcher or other organization in my application?
Yes! We encourage joint submissions.
I can only describe my technology using confidential information — can I apply?
All information submitted at the application stage must be non-confidential. All entrants retain intellectual property of their solution. If necessary, Toronto Hydro may seek additional information and clarification about your application.

Can I submit to more than one call?
Yes! Innovators are encouraged to apply to multiple calls.
Are multiple entries allowed from the same team?
Yes! Multiple entries are allowed from the same team.
Who will be reviewing the submissions?
Submissions will be reviewed by a team of internal Toronto Hydro subject matter experts.
What's the selection procedure?
An initial panel will evaluate the submissions received. If selected, you’ll be invited to pitch your solution to our team where we can offer feedback, share information and potentially explore opportunities to collaborate.
What's the criteria for selection?
Each submission will be evaluated on the basis of level of innovation, implementation feasibility and operational impact.
How do I cancel/replace my submission?
